MARION, Ind. – Once Again Indiana Wesleyan Athletics is excited to partner with Northwestern Mutual for our annual Kickin Cancer event. Since 2019, IWU and Northwestern Mutual have raised over $5,000 towards the fight. During the game, IWU kickers had the opportunity to raise money towards research for each field goal, punt, or kickoff that they made.
"We are so excited for another year and the opportunity to help raise money for cancer research" said Steven Gidley, Associate A.D. for External Relations." We appreciate the opportunity and are excited for another year and event with Northwestern Mutual.
This year's game will take place on October 1, 2022 when Wildcat football hosts No. 6 Concordia at 12 p.m., with individuals having the opportunity to purchase lemonade, shirts, or donate money towards fighting childhood cancer.
As a parent, I am blessed to have three beautiful healthy kids, I've seen the struggles that families go through when their children are afflicted with this horrible disease. I love that I have the ability and influence to help fight for the cure for each and every child!!! Matt Henry, Northwestern Mutual Fort Wayne's Managing Director.
During the game, each field goal, punt, or kickoff that IWU's has will result in a $50 donation toward childhood cancer research. Individuals will also have the opportunity to purchase lemonade and play games in the entrance patio to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand.
