COLUMBUS, GA. - No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan softball's incredible post season run came to close this afternoon in Georgia. Wildcats dropped the last game of the season to the Fire from Southeastern University 4-2. IWU has run into Southeastern five times, most recently in the 2016 NAIA Opening Round.

WHAT HAPPENED

 

• A strong defensive start to the game included diving catches by outfielder Becca Wyatt and short stop Makenna Pace.
• After a scoreless first two innings, Makenna Pace doubled to left field sending in both Julianne Bell and Elisha Koshy giving the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.
• In the sixth inning, the Fire offense erupted scoring four runs.
• Southeastern outhit IWU 7-5 with four of their hits recorded in the sixth inning.

 

BABINSKI PERSPECTIVE

 

• "The scoreboard didn't decide the true victor today.  God won!!  He has been winning all week.  In the last 48 hours, three peopel became Christians, and 22 people got baptized!  God has shown so much favor on us this year because He wanted to show up through IWU Softball at the World Series and change lives.  I am so proud of my girls!  Their heart, their grind, their fight...how selfless and servant leading they are!  I'm such a proud coach!"
