NO. 15 BASEBALL SPLITS WITH NO. 6 FAULKNER, NORMAN FANS 10

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan baseball went toe-to-toe with No. 6 Faulkner University on Friday, both games were decided by one run. The Wildcats came up short in game one, falling 3-2, but late-inning magic in game two would give IWU a 4-3 win in extra innings.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS



 
  • Lucas Goodin went 2-for-3 from the plate with a double and a home run. 
  • Brennan Morehead went four innings, striking out seven batters and allowing just one earned run. 
  • IWU mustered just three hits in the contest, compared to Faulkner's eight, Evan Salmon was responsible for the other IWU hit.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS



 

  • It was an all-around effort in game two, with eight Wildcats combining for 10 hits. 
  • Zach Rabe contributed two RBIs, which led the team.
  • MJ Stavola and Denver Blinn both contributed two hits in the game, Colby Jenkins added a double.
  • Jeff Morton showed up in a big way, scoring a game-tying run in the 5th and punching one up the middle in the top of the 9th to bring the go-ahead run in. 
  • Braedon Norman dominated on the mound, throwing nearly six innings of shutout baseball while striking out 10, the most by a Wildcat pitcher this season.
