NO. 11 VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS FORESTERS IN FOUR SETS

MARION, IND. - No.11 Indiana Wesleyan got back in the win column on Wednesday night. IWU took down Huntington University in four sets. The Wildcats won the first two sets before dropping a thrilling third set. IWU took the fourth set 25-19 to move to 15-5 on the season.

  • IWU got off to a fast start in set one, jumping out to an 11-5 lead as they took the set 25-17.
  • The Wildcats kept momentum in set two, taking an early 12-5 lead. IWU used the early lead to propel them to a 25-14 victory.
  • After trailing 19-17, Huntington went on a 5-0 run to take a 22-19 lead. IWU answered with a 5-1 to take a 24-23 lead. After trading points, the Foresters scored 3 straight to win a back and forth third set.
  • Huntington used the momentum from their third set victory to push them to 15-13 lead midway through the fourth set. The Wildcats then went on a 12-4 run to finish off the Foresters.
  • Eva Joldersma recorded 22 kills, her ninth match with 20+ kills this season.
  • Abbigail Porter posted 4 aces while Rebekah Sergent tallied 3 and Elly Grenda added 2 of her own.
  • Ally Barkhaus led the team with 22 digs and Rebekah Sergent posted a season high 16 in the match.
  • Abbigail Porter recorded 39 assists across four sets.
