MARION, Ind. - No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball dropped heartbreaker to No. 7 Marian University Knights in overtime coming up just shy 77-74.

WHAT HAPPENED

 

• Kelli Damman started the game hot connecting on the first Wildcat layup followed by a three from the top of the key. Wildcats led 24-16 at the end of the first quarter.
• Wildcats continued to build to the lead getting up as much as 16 on two different occasions. IWU went 5-7 from the arc in the first half of play heading into the locker room with a 45-33 lead.
• Knights opened up the second half on a 9-0 run before the two teams exchanged baskets the rest of the way as Marian won the quarter 18-13.
• At 2:21 remaining in the game, Marian tied the game for the first time. The next possession Lilli Frasure made a layup to go up 66-64. The initial play to respond from Marian wasn't successful and a foul on the Wildcats let Marian set up a baseline out of bounds play. Marian's Ella Collier finished a layup with seconds remaining to tie the game at 66-66. Wildcats got another chance with a few seconds remaining but wasn't able to connect on a last second shot.
• Knights got their first lead of the game in overtime action ultimately outscoring Wildcats 77-74.
