Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

LATE SURGE NOT ENOUGH AS WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO NO. 6 SOUTHEASTERN

MARION, Ind. - No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer toed the line Thursday with their second NAIA Top-10 opponent of the season, hosting No. 6 Southeastern (Fla.). The high-scoring affair featured seven goals, with Southeastern netting two in the first half and two in the second half, edging the Wildcats, 4-3.

INSIDE THE BOX
  • Mallory Kruegar came out fast for the Wildcats, breaking the scoreless contest between squads, five minutes into the first half.
  • SEU fired off 24 total shots, landing 14 on frame while IWU mustered 10 shots, landing seven.
  • Both squads fired off five corners.
  • The very physical game featured 21 fouls and two cautions, both coming from Fire players.
  • The streak ended at three games for both Sydney Brown and Jackie Norris, as Brown didn't collect an assist and Norris didn't collect a goal.

SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE
  • Tonight was definitely a great environment! First of all, we want to thank Wildcat Nation for coming out and supporting tonight. They were TERRIFIC and we loved every bit of their support!
  • From the soccer side of things, we are close. There were some really great moments tonight and some really good soccer played that we can build off of. We still have to button some things up, but this team is showing that they can compete with anyone out there.
  • We definitely look forward to getting back to work tomorrow as we get ready to prepare for another quality and nationally-ranked opponent.

NEXT TIME OUT
  • The road continues to be uphill for IWU, as they host No. 16, Lindsey Wilson, on Tuesday, September 7th at 7 p.m.
