MANGAS EARNS BACK-TO-BACK NAIA PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD

KANSAS CITY - Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball senior Kyle Mangas capped of his stellar career Tuesday night, earning back-to-back NAIA Player of the Year awards for his success on the court. Mangas becomes just the third back-to-back winner in NAIA history and the second player in Crossroads League history to accomplish the feat. In addition Mangas earned All-American First Team honors for the fourth consecutive year. 


Mangas averaged a NAIA best 29.5 points-per-game during his senior campaign totaling 974 points, all tops in the NAIA. His 974 total points was also good for the most points scored in the NAIA in a season since 2014, when Joe Mitchell of Friends poured in 1,098 points. 



His average in League play was just a touch higher at 30.69 points-per-game, while shooting 60% from the floor on second to Seth Maxwell in the Crossroads League.



In addition, Mangas shared the basketball at a high level, totaling 169 assists on the season, good for second-most in the country. It was also good for the most in a season in high career by 34 assists.
