Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan softball team recorded a pair of victories Monday, defeating St. Thomas 2-1 in the first game before posting an epic come-from-behind 9-7 win in eight innings in the nightcap.

INSIDE THE BOX - GAME 1
- The Bobcats struck first with a run in the bottom of the third inning off Danielle Munn.
- In the fifth inning, Kamryn Buck walked with one down and Chloe Tragesser singled. After Jennah Yost laid down a bunt single, Kaycee Wisley blasted a 2-2 pitch to right center field, allowing Buck and Tragesser to cross home for the 2-1 lead.
- Alyssa Wagner came into the game as a relief pitcher in the fifth inning. She struck out four in the game, including retiring the side in the bottom of the seventh inning.
- For the game, Jennah Yost led everyone with a pair of base hits – both of which were singles. For good measure, Yost swiped a base and walked a pair of times.
- Kaycee Wisley drove in two runs.
- Danielle Munn recorded a game-high four assist and picked up the victory. She had four strikeouts and gave up just four hits.
GOING FOR EXTRA BASES
- In game one, Kamryn Buck and Addie Benham each blasted extra-base hits. Both Buck and Benham accounted for doubles.
STEALING IS A CRIME
- Miranda Wehrle had a solid day defensively. In the first game, she threw out a pair of Bobcats that tried to advance a base. Through the first three games of the season, Wehrle had thrown out three baserunners.
FEARLESS FRESHMAN
- Rookie Alyssa Wagner picked up the save in game one. She worked three innings of relief and was fearless in the circle. With two batters on in the seventh, she only threw strikes for the next two batters, completing the come-from-behind win for the Wildcats.
INSIDE THE BOX - GAME 2
- Trailing 4-0 in game two, the Wildcats trimmed the deficit to two. Jennah Yost reached on an error, allowing Chloe Tragesser and Trinity Medina to score.
- The Bobcats plated a run in the bottom of the fifth, but IWU would continue to battle. Rebecca Schrad laid down a bunt with one away and was able to score when Addie Benham belted a two-run homer over the center field wall.
- Down 5-4 in the seventh with two outs, Miranda Wehrle knotted the game at 5-5 when she launched the first pitch she saw over the right center field wall.
- With the international tiebreaker rule in effect in the eighth frame, a runner was put on second base. With two down, Chloe Tragesser went to the opposite field, making it 6-5.
- After a pitching change, Trinity Medina singled in a run. She later moved to third on an error, allowing another Wildcat to cross home plate. Jennah Yost reached on an error, plating Medina to make it 9-5.
- Alyssa Wagner came in to pitch in the bottom of the eighth. She gave up two runs but struck out the final two batters with the bases loaded, securing the 9-7 victory. Wagner picked up the victory while putting up three strikeouts.
COMEBACK KIDS
- For the second time in the first two series of the season, the Wildcats used a late-inning rally to register a victory. This time, the squad plated four runs in the eighth inning for the 9-7 win.
MULTI-HIT PERFORMANCES
- Elisha Koshy and Chloe Tragesser each posted two hits in the game. Both had two singles apiece in the win.
NEXT TIME OUT
- The Wildcats take the field again Wednesday. IWU will play games against the University of Northwestern Ohio and Warner in Kissimmee, Fla., beginning at 11:15 a.m.
