NO. 1 MEN'S BASKETBALL STUNNED IN LEAGUE TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS

MARION, Ind. - No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball was stunned Saturday for just the second time this season, falling 106-79 to the Cougars of Saint Francis in the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals. The Cougars led all but 30 seconds of the contest, handing IWU their first 20 point loss since December 18, 2004, and the first of the Tonagel era.


The Wildcats will head into NAIA Championship season, posting a record of 29-2.

  • The Wildcats struggled offensively, posting their second-lowest field goal and three-point percentage of the season. 
  • IWU's 51-game home win streak was snapped in the loss, dating back to October 30, 2018. 
  • Saint Francis shot 60% from the field and 51% from deep. 


NEXT TIME OUT
  • Indiana Wesleyan will hear next week who they will host in the Opening Round of the NAIA National Champion.
  • The game will be played in Luckey Arena as the Wildcats were awarded a campus site for the Opening Round.
