No. 16 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS COUNTY FOE BY 29

MARION, Ind. - No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball stopped a six game skid to Grant County foe Taylor University Wednesday, topping the Trojans 87-58. The 29-point win is the largest win in the rivalry dating back to November 23, 2010, when IWU won 72-43 on the road.

WHAT WENT DOWN
  • IWU would end the first quarter with five consecutive three balls, building a 23-11 lead after ten minutes of play. 
  • The Wildcats would use a 17-6 run in the second quarter to build a comfortable 21-point lead at the half. The Wildcats built their lead from deep, shooting 8-for-11.
  • The red and gray finished the game with 14 made triples, shooting 50% from deep, their highest percentage this season since Madonna on November 3 when they shot 52%.
  • IWU coughed it up just seven times, their lowest of the season, while TU accounted for 19, three more than their season average.
  • Baylie VanDyke led IWU with three steals while as a squad, they grabbed ten. 
  • The one blemish for the Wildcats was being out rebounded by six, their second consecutive game being out rebounded.


THE LEAGUE
  • IWU secured the 2-seed in the upcoming tournament and will host Goshen College on February 23.


NEXT TIME OUT
  • The Wildcats head to Mount Vernon Nazarene for their final regular-season League game. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
