COLUMBIA, KY. - No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball defeated RV Lindsey Wilson 81-69 to end their road trip to Kentucky this weekend.

WHAT HAPPENED



 

  • After starting off the game exchanging baskets, Wildcats went on a 9-0 run to create some cushion midway through the quarter. Wildcats led 21-14 after the first ten minutes of play.
  • Three minutes into the second quarter, Blue Raiders tied the game before Wildcats responded with a 15-2 run to end the half leading 38-27.
  • The second half of play opened up with back-to-back possessions of Wildcats knocking down shots before the Blue Raiders responded with back-to-back three pointers. IWU connected on five three-pointers in the quarter with two from Kelli Damman, Rylie Parker back-to-back, and Lilli Frasure ending the quarter with one.
  • Blue Raiders came within six early in the fourth quarter but the Wildcats never let up. Jordan Reid connected on the final three Wildcat baskets of the night two of which were critical offensive rebounds and put backs.

  • "It was a gutsy game with so many different contributions.  I was really proud of the resolve we showed when Lindsey Wilson made runs.  It was another game where I felt our young team stepped up and showed maturity."

  • Wildcats return home after a week off for final exams. They will host Miami University (Hamilton) on Monday, December 20 at 7pm.
