MARION, Ind. - No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer advanced in the Crossroads League Tournament Saturday, downing Taylor University 1-0.
Freshman Jackie Norris netted the game-winning goal in the 79th minute for the Wildcats, her eighth on the season. IWU took seven more corner kicks in the contest than TU, while landing four more shots on frame.
SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE
- I'm proud of the way that our girls gritted through another game this evening. Taylor is a very strong team with a lot of great veteran leadership and so we definitely saw a strong performance from them. With that said, that is what playoff time is all about, having to keep our composure and focus when emotions are high and I thought tonight was a good learning experience for us in regards to that.
- So now it's time to focus on recovery tomorrow as we get ready to get back on the field on Monday to continue to train and get better in preparation for another very strong opponent.
NEXT TIME OUT
- IWU hosts Marian University in the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
