INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball had a slow start against rival No. 10 Marian University this afternoon. Marian jumped out to a 10-point lead and never looked back leading to a 62-44 loss for the Wildcats. The Knights out rebounded Wildcats 38-23. These two programs have created a rivalry both atop of the Crossroads League in the past several years with Wildcats winning the 2021 Crossroads League Tournament title and Knights winning the 2020-21 Crossroads League Regular Season title.
 
WHAT HAPPENED

• Knights jumped out to a 12-0 start before the Wildcats got on the board. Three Wildcats scored layups in first 10 minutes ending the quarter trailing 19-6.
• Marian went on another run 18-0 before Jade Nutley connected on two free throws to end the drought. IWU went into the half down 34-14.
• Third quarter Knights out rebounded the Wildcats 15-4, seven of which were on the offensive end.
• The fourth quarter was too late to flip the script as the Wildcats poured in 21 points led by freshmen duo Nutley and Lili Frasure combining for 14 points.

 
INSIDE THE BOX

• Knights held Wildcats off the boards posting 38-23 advantage.
• Wildcats bench recorded 32 points led by Nutley's career high 14 points and Frasure's 11 points.
• Marian held a 36-24 advantage with points in the paint.
