MARION, Ind. - No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer pushed past Saint Ambrose University Thursday, in match two of the NAIA Opening Round, 2-1. Sarah Foulk netted the first goal of the match off a header pass from Lauren Turner just 23 minutes into the match. Foulk wouldn't stop there, finding fellow freshman Jackie Norris on a cross setting up a Norris game-winning goal.

MATCH DETAILS

Jackie Norris couldn't get quite enough behind the ball just eight minutes into the contest for IWU's first real threat of the contest. At that part in the contest, both teams had acquired one shot on goal each.
Sarah Foulk would play a nice ball between two defenders to Sydney Brown, for the Wildcats second shot on frame 14 minutes into the match. Foulk's ball was played roughly 45-yards in the air.
Indiana Wesleyan netted their first goal of the match off their fourth corner kick of the match. Lauren Turner would head the corner to the turf, finding Sarah Foulk's feet, who punched it across.
SAU's Rachel Willette would fend off a fury of IWU shots just five yards away with 60 seconds left in the first half. She made five saves in the first half.
Saint Ambrose would bring things back to dead even in the 54th minute, off a cross from Kaitlyn Brunson to Taylor DeSplinter.
After multiple attempts to take the lead, Sarah Foulk would break down the Bee's defense on the end line, crossing it into the middle of the 18, finding a slashing Jackie Norris for the goal.
IWU would get lucky with ten minutes left, fending off multiple game-tying shots by the Bees inside the 18.

It's national tournament time and we know that every game is going to be a battle. I'm proud of the girls for their fight tonight and we will now start preparing for Saturday.

NAIA OPENING-ROUND QUICK NOTES

Receiving votes Reinhardt (Ga.) picked up a NAIA Top-20 win over Missouri Valley, 3-2 in overtime. Kerstyn Thomas netted the game-winning goal for Reinhardt.
Crossroads League foe No. 8 Marian and No. 11 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) both picked up wins in the Indianapolis Bracket, setting up an NAIA Top-15 matchup Saturday at 8:00 p.m. EST.
No. 25 SCAD-Georgia smothered League foe No. 18 Grace 4-1.
The biggest upset of the day came in California, as No. 9 Southeastern fell to the No. 4 seed Marymount California, 3-0.
No. 21 Truett McConnell (Ga.) defeated No. 17 Campbellsville (Ky.) in the Spring Arbor Bracket, while No. 3 Spring Arbor topped Ohio Valley (W.Va.), 1-0.

NEXT TIME OUT

IWU faces No. 12 Aquinas on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the final match of the NAIA Opening Round Marion Bracket.
The winner will head to Orange Beach, Ala., for the final site of the NAIA National Championship.
