Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

NO. 9 WOMEN'S SOCCER TOPS GRACE IN TOP-15 BATTLE

WINONA LAKE , Ind. - No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer picked up a clutch road win Wednesday, downing League foe No. 15 Grace College. It's the Wildcat's first win in Winona Lake since 2016 when IWU topped the Lancers 2-0 in the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals.

Mallory Krueger netted the game-winning goal from 25 yards out off a free-kick. It's her second game-winning goal of the season and seventh goal, good for third-most on the squad.

INSIDE THE BOX

  • IWU landed one more shot on frame, edging GC 5-4.
  • IWU has mustered five or fewer shots on goal in four contests this season, winning two games and losing two games.
  • The red & grey fired off five corners, four more than the Lancers. IWU has held three opponents this season to one or fewer corner kick attempts.
  • Indiana Wesleyan committed a season-high 15 fouls.

SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE

  • Tonight was definitely a battle but I'm proud of how our team came out today and competed. Getting three points on the road in this league is always a positive thing. We have another top-notch opponent coming up this weekend so we will rest up tonight and look forward to getting back on the training grounds tomorrow.

NEXT TIME OUT

  • IWU stays on the road, heading to Indianapolis for a date with No. 6 Marian.
