WILDCATS RECORD 30TH CONSECUTIVE WIN IN LUCKEY ARENA

MARION, Ind. - No. 22 Indiana Wesleyan volleyball defeated Spring Arbor 3-0 to kick off Homecoming weekend while hosting a Play for the Cure event to help raise funds for Grant County Cancer Services. This win marks the 30th consecutive win in Luckey Arena dating back to October 12, 2019. Another streak remains alive with the Wildcats stretching to 25-straight wins over Spring Arbor.
 
MATCH INSIGHTS
WIN 3-0: 25-16, 25-22, 25-22
  • After being tied 13-13 in set one, the Wildcats took control and went on a 12-3 run to finish out the first set 25-16.
  • The second set was a battle, IWU came from behind to tie it at 17-17. Once tied, Martina Demarchi recorded back-to-back aces which lifted the Wildcats to finish the game 25-22.
  • Set three never saw more than a three-point difference between the two teams. Wildcats pulled out a 25-22 finish.
  • Wildcats posted 46 kills led by Courtney Watkins and Ana Collar with 12 a piece and Demarchi with 10 kills.
  • Paige Thibault led the defense with 15 digs followed by Zawadzki with 14 of the team's 62 digs.
 
PLAY FOR THE CURE
  • IWU hosted a Play for the Cure event which helped raise funds for Grant County Cancer Services. The team took a moment prior to the match to honor their family members and close friends who have lost their battle with cancer, currently battling cancer, and survivors of cancer.
 
MOATS PERSPECTIVE
  • "Tonight, was a special night as we were able to support Grant County Cancer Services. It also was special for me as my college coach attended the match! Thank you, Catalyst, for your support and all who came out to cheer for the team! You guys were awesome!!"
NEXT TIME OUT
  • Wildcats have a short trip up to Huntington University for a 3pm start tomorrow afternoon.
