MAXWELL & MANGAS LEAD NO.1 @IWUHOOPS OVER MVNU

MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE, Ohio. - No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball moved to 22-1 on the season Monday, downing Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 83-70. 


Kyle Mangas and Seth Maxwell netted 28 and 27 points respectively, with Maxwell adding 11 rebounds. It's the sixth time this season Mangas and Maxwell have each netted at least 20 points in the contest.

  • Indiana Wesleyan jumped out to an 18-7 run to start the contest, forcing an MVNU timeout.
  • At the half, MVNU edged IWU from the field 53% compared to IWU's 47%. They shot a whopping 50% from deep, knocking down five triples while IWU hit seven, but shot 38%.
  • MVNU had four players in double-digits, with another missing it by just one point. 
  • IWU's nine turnovers were good for a season-low, while their ten steals were good for their most in five games. 
  • The Cougars netted 22 points off the bench while the Wildcats mustered six.
