Women's Basketball

No. 23 @IWU_WBB WINS SIXTH STRAIGHT

Box Score MARION, Ind. - Newly minted as the No. 23 team in the latest NAIA Coaches' poll, Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball moved to 12-3 on the season, downing Huntington University 74-66. The Wildcats have now won six straight contests, including a victory over No. 11 Indiana Tech during their six-game run.

WHAT WENT DOWN
  • The Wildcats missed just four total shots in the first 10 minutes of play, shooting 71% as a squad. All four of their missed shots came from deep where they shot 2-of-6.
  • At the half the Wildcats dipped down just a bit offensively, shooting 61% from the field and 42% from deep. On the defensive side they smothered the Foresters allowing them to shoot just 26% while coughing it up nine times. In addition, IWU grabbed 22 rebounds compared to HU's 13.
  • HU cut the Wildcats lead to 10-points starting the third quarter on a 8-0 run, forcing an IWU timeout. IWU tallied just one field goal in the third quarter and four free throws, being outscored 18-7 by the Foresters.
  • IWU collected 22 points from their bench lead by Maddie Lawrence, who finished with nine points.
