Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

@IWUWSOCCER RUNS OUT OF TIME IN TOP-15 BATTLE

WINONA LAKE, Ind. – 110 minutes wasn't enough Wednesday, as the Top-15 Crossroads League battle between No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer and No. 14 Grace College, ended in a 1-1 tie. The Lancers struck first in the 32nd minute on a solo goal by Madison Tuma. Senior Olivia Schmidt kept the Wildcats alive, netting her 20th career goal in the 56th minute.

INSIDE THE BOX
  • GC pounded the net firing off 29 shots while IWU musterd eight.
  • Nine of the Lancers shots came in overtime while IWU collected zero shots in overtime.
  • Hope Stacker collected 11 saves in the contest, marking the first time since November 16, 2019 a keeper for the Wildcats recorded double saves.

SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE
  • We definitely are pleased with our team's effort tonight. It's so early in the season and we have a ways to go to get where we want to be, but I am definitely pleased with the way that our team competed. Getting a point on the road in this competitive league is never a bad thing. We'll get back to work tomorrow and prep for another strong opponent as we get ready for our home opener this weekend.

NEXT TIME OUT
  • IWU hosts Spring Arbor on September 19 at 1 p.m.
