KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Indiana Wesleyan softball split a pair of games on Friday beating Calumet College 9-6 in game one and losing to Briar Cliff 5-1 in game two. The Wildcats erupted for nine runs in game one, but couldn't find the same success in game two only plating one run. With the split, the Wildcats are now 8-6 on the season. 

GAME ONE VITALS

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

• Calumet College took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Wildcats stormed back with two runs of their own in the bottom half to take the 2-1 lead, which they would hold the rest of the game. The two runs came from an RBI single by Addie Benham and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Sydney Lowe.
•  Mady McMilan held the wave scoreless through innings two and three while the Wildcats tacked on 3 runs on four hits and an error including a two-RBI single by Maddy Margraf to make it 5-1. 
• In the top of the fourth, the Wave pulled within a run, scoring three off of three hits and an error. The Wildcats responded with four runs of their own from an RBI single by Miranda Wehrle, fielder's choice by Addie Benham, and a two-RBI single by Kaycee Wisley.
• The Wave would stage a comeback with a two-run home run in the top of the fifth but would come up short as the Wildcats held on to win 9-6.

• RECORDS: Indiana Wesleyan 8-6, Briar Cliff 10-5

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

• The Wildcat bats went cold as they were only able to muster one run on three hits.
• The Wildcats struggled defensively committing four errors that proved costly as Briar Cliff scored five runs off of only four hits.

• IWU continues their Spring Break trip facing Thomas More College and Lawrence Tech (Mich.) on March 7.
• First pitch vs. Thomas More is slated for 10:00 AM.
• First pitch vs. Lawrence Tech is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
