NO. 3 @IWUHOOPS MOVES TO 10-0 ON THE SEASON IN BIG WIN OVER GOSHEN

MARION, Ind. - No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball moved to 10-0 on the season Wednesday, topping the Goshen College Maple Leafs, 112-60. IWU has topped the 100 point mark in seven of their ten games to start the season, averaging a whopping 104.1 points-per-game through ten games. IWU finished the game shooting 70.3% from the field, nearly topping the program record of 71.4% set in 1995. 


THROUGH 10 GAMES
  • The red and gray are dominating teams, holding their opponents to an average of 74 points-per-game while shooting 41% from the field. IWU is currently shooting 56% from the field. 
  • IWU has tallied 69 blocks through ten games, while last season they posted 126 in 32 games. Seth Maxwell leads the way with 43 blocks. 
  • Kyle Mangas, through ten games, is averaging 31.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists while shooting 64% from the field.
  • Dylan Alderson is second on the team in scoring, averaging 15.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and three assists in 30 minutes of work each game.
  • Seth Maxwell is nearly averaging a double-double, scoring 14.8 points-per-game while grabbing 9.1 rebounds. Maxwell leads IWU with 43 blocks on the season. Sixty-one blocks is the record in a season set by Zach Coverstone in 2008.


INSIDE THE BOX
  • Five Wildcats finished in double-figures, led by Kyle Mangas with 30, one point shy of his season average. Mangas missed just one shot, shooting 15-of-16 from the floor. Mangas didn't attempt a three-pointer or a free throw in the contest. It's the 12th time in his career he hasn't attempted a free throw, and the first time he hadn't attempted one from deep. He did all this in just 28 minutes. 
  • Dylan Alderson finished with 20 points, shooting 8-of-10 from the floor. 
  • Noah Smith finished with nine assists, one shy of a career-high but suitable for a season-high. 
  • IWU finished with 27 assists, one shy of tying their season-high.
  • Indiana Wesleyan grabbed 19 more rebounds than Goshen, the best rebound margin this season in a game for IWU. Goshen's 17 total rebounds is the lowest allowed this season in a game by IWU.
