NO. 3 @IWUHOOPS RUNS RECORD TO 13-0, CHOPS DOWN FORESTERS BY 26

MARION, Ind. - No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball moved to 13-0 on the season and 6-0 in Crossroads League play Saturday, downing Huntington University 115-89, good for IWU's ninth 100 point game of the season. The Wildcats were deadly from deep, pouring in 13 triples for 59%, their single-game best thus far this season. In IWU's last two games, they have knocked down 29 triples, five more than their previous four games combined. 


WILDCAT STAT TRACKER
  • Dylan Alderson - 23 points, eight rebounds, six assists, 5-of-7 from three
  • Kyle Mangas - 23 first-half points, finished with 31 points, seven assists, six rebounds, three steals
  • Tayson Parker - 12 points, six rebounds, two steals
  • Michael Thompson III - 14 first half points, finished with 19 points and three rebounds
  • Seth Maxwell - 12 first half points, finished with 17 points, five rebounds, one block


WHAT WENT DOWN
  • The Wildcats jumped out to a quick 32-15 lead, forcing six turnovers and only six made HU shots in the first ten minutes of play. 
  • IWU shot 64% from the field in the first ten minutes while scoring half their points in the paint. They also scored 13 of their 32 points off turnovers. 
  • IWU led by as much as 24 points in the first half, taking a 58-40 lead into halftime. Huntington's Caleb Middlesworth led HU with 16 at the half, while Kyle Mangas led all scorers with 21. 
  • Indiana Wesleyan shot 67% in the first half from the field and 62% from deep. HU shot 51% from the floor and 36% from deep. Both teams had nine turnovers at the break. 
  • Huntington grabbed a total of six rebounds in the first half while IWU grabbed six offensive boards and 13 defensive boards. The Wildcats finished the game with 43 rebounds while Huntington grabbed 18, their lowest this year by nine. 
  • The Wildcats were sloppy with the ball, coughing it up 17 times, their third-highest this season. In their last two games, IWU has committed 41 turnovers, their highest in back-to-back games all year. 
  • HU totaled just six assists in the contest, a season-low for the Foresters.
