INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball picked up their second Top-25 win Saturday, kicking off Crossroads League play with a 84-76 win over No. 12 Marian University. The Wildcats have won eight of their last ten over the Knights.
The Wildcats moved to 8-0 on the season, their hottest start since 2014-15 when they started 15-0.
INSIDE THE BOX
- IWU trailed by ten points early in the first half, but a 17-5 run squared things at 37 apiece at the half.
- Both squads were nearly even from the field at the half, with IWU shooting 14-of-28 and MU shooting 14-of-31.
- Together there were just ten turnovers in the first half, with the Knights coughing it up just four times.
- The Knights attempted a season-high 70 shots, making just 29 for 41% shooting.
- IWU struggled from deep, shooting 1-for-8 in the first half and 3-for-6 in the second half for a season-low 28% from deep.
- IWU was nearly perfect from the charity line, making 20-of-21. Mangas was a perfect 9-for-9. Mangas is 52-of-59 on the season, missing just one free throw in his last five games.
- IWU has now been outrebounded in three straight games, with Marian grabbing four more today.
