MARION, Ind. –  #7 Indiana Wesleyan volleyball won its fifth straight match on Saturday afternoon defeating Mount Vernon Nazarene on the road. The Wildcats bounced back after losing the first set 26-24 to win in four. 

After dropping the first set, IWU did not allow the cougars to score more that 17 points in a set.

INSIDE THE BOX

• After a .094 hitting percentage in set one, the Wildcats finished with a .264 attacking percentage for the match.
• Marci Miller paced the team with 16 kills. Allison Sparrow tallied 14 kills and Courtney Watkins added 13. 
• Havyn Gates continued her strong serving with two aces, bringing her to 16 on the season. 
• Olivia Zawadzki collected a career high 50 assists in the match. 
• Gates also racked up 16 digs to lead the team. Zawadzki added 15 and Anna Collar had 14. 

MOATS PERSPECTIVE

• We had a slow start in set one but I am proud of the ladies coming together and getting the win! THe leadership on this team brings calm, competitiveness and a belief in their teammates. So greatful for these seniors!

NEXT TIME OUT

• Indiana Wesleyan stays on the roads with a trip to Northern Indiana to face the Bethel Pilots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
