MARION, Ind. - In an NAIA Top-10 showdown Wednesday, No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer surrendered their first loss of the season to No. 2 Marian University. Marian drew first blood off a penalty kick with the Wildcats bringing the score to one apiece with a Sydney Brown goal from 35 yards out.
The Knights would ramp up their offensive pressure in the second half scoring three goals for a 4-1 victory over the Wildcats. The red & gray move to 6-1-2 on the season.
SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE
- I thought our girls really battled tonight! We played well in the first half and really felt like this game could have gone either way. Unfortunately we gave up a pk, and a set piece goal which we need to get better at. Then we gave up that late one with minutes left while trying to push. Obviously, it is not the result that we wanted, but we know what we're capable of against a really strong team like that, so we are excited to get back to work immediately. Definitely proud of our girls and their effort tonight!
