Box Score MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball collected their sixth top-25 win Saturday, sinking the Pilots of Bethel University, 107-102. The Wildcats handed No. 9 Bethel their first loss of the season while holding Bethel’s number two scorer Grant Gelon (20ppg) to just 12 points.
Junior Kyle Mangas collected his 2,000th career point in the contest, becoming the seventh player in program history to score at least 2,000 points. The Warsaw, Indiana product connected on the historic milestone in the second half from the free-throw line. He finished the game with 39 points brining his career points total to 2,025.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Both teams could not miss with IWU shooting 56% and BU shooting 52% from the floor.
- The Pilots shot an astounding 51% from deep connecting on 16-of-31. The Wildcats knocked down ten of their 30 from deep.
- IWU’s 107 points is the most this season, and the most since February 2, 2017, when they put up 109 against Huntington in overtime. It is the most in regulation since December 22, 2015 when they downed Governors State, 114-91.
- 52 of IWU’s 107 points in the contest came in the paint, while Bethel scored just 32 paint points.
- Noah Smith poured in a new career-high 24 points in the contest on 8-of-12 shooting. It is the second time this season the freshman has scored 20 plus in a game.

- Mangas is just the seventh member of the 2,000 point club, joining Perry Frank (2,452 points), Durand ‘Speedy’ Walker (2,409 points), Lane Mahurin (2,288 points), Jordan Weidner (2,224 points), Aaron Brothers (2,013 points), and Bob Peters (2,004 points).
- Mangas ranks fifth all-time in Wildcat scoring, and 49th when it comes to the Crossroads League.
- Mangas is on pace to have his best season yet, averaging 26.1 points-per-game, 4.3 assists per game, and 5.7 rebounds per game. He is shooting a whopping 85% from the free-throw line, 7% percent better than his career average. For his career, Mangas boasts a 54% field goal percentage while shooting 40% from deep.
