Box Score MARION, Ind. – For the first time in his career, Kyle Mangas has scored 30 or more points in three consecutive contests. Leading Indian Wesleyan men’s basketball past No.6 Mount Vernon Nazarene 85-72, Mangas has netted at least 30 points in back-to-back games on two occasions but never three consecutive games.
With the victory, IWU runs their win streak to ten games while pushing their home record to a perfect 10-0. IWU now has ten, Top-25 wins this season.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Kyle Mangas was unconscious, scoring 15 points in the first ten minutes of the ball game. He finished the first half with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Seth Maxwell added ten points on 5-of-6 shooting. As a squad, IWU shot 59% in the first half.
- Indiana Wesleyan led by as much as 14 in the first half, but a 16-5 run by Mount Vernon would cut the lead to two at the half. IWU committed five of their seven turnovers in the last five minutes of the game.
- Spencer Piercefield netted a career-high 17 points while shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from deep. Piercefield also tallied five rebounds, which is also a career-high.
- Noah Smith dished out a team-high six assists in the contest, giving him five games this season with five or more assists in the contest.
