Box Score MARION, Ind. – Kyle Mangas had 22 points and 10 rebounds, as Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball routed Taylor University 92-63, for the Wildcats 17th straight victory over the Trojans. The 29 point victory gives Indiana Wesleyan their fourth straight Crossroads League victory by 25 points or more, a program record.
Forcing 23 turnovers in the contest, IWU did not allow Taylor to score in the final five minutes.
INSIDE THE BOX
- IWU took their first lead of the game in the 6:53 mark of the first quarter, previously trailing by as much as seven. Taylor would cough the ball up on four straight possessions, allowing IWU to build a nine-point lead. Spencer Piercefield would knock down back to back triples during IWU’s 10-0 stretch. Taylor would commit 11 turnovers in the half, while IWU tallied seven.
- Taylor made seven trips to the line in the first half shooting 72%. IWU shot just seven free throws, making all but one.
- In the first half Seth Maxwell, Noah Smith, and Kyle Mangas all scored in double figures, tallying 12, 11, and 10. TU had no players score in double figures in the first half.
- Kyle Mangas collected his sixth double-double of the season, while Seth Maxwell tallied his fifth game with 20 or more points.
- Canann Coffey’s streak of 18 games with a made three ended tonight. His streak of 18 games tied DJ Bettinger and Jon Moon for the longest in the Tonagel era.
