Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball used an explosive offensive outpour Saturday, downing No. 15 Spring Arbor, 93-68. The Wildcats led 54-34 at the break, building their 20 point lead on 61% shooting. The Wildcats knocked down 22-of-36 attempts, while SAU mustered just 21 total shots.
Last week’s Crossroads League and NAIA Player of the Week Kyle Mangas continued his scoring frenzy finishing with 35 points. Mangas collected 26 of them in the first half on 10-of-13 shooting. He was a perfect 4-for-4 from deep in the first half, finishing the game 7-of-9.
The Wildcats are 7-1 this season against Top-25 opponents.
INSIDE THE BOX
- The Wildcats jumped out to a quick 22-11 lead, forcing a Spring Arbor timeout with 12:54 left in the first half. The Wildcats shot a whopping 81%, making 9-of-11 shots to open the game. Kyle Mangas and Tanner Rubio combined to score 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting, making two more shots than the Cougars of Spring Arbor.
- Indiana Wesleyan extended their lead to 28 points with five minutes remaining, forcing another Spring Arbor timeout. IWU extended their lead on the heels of 80% shooting from behind the arc, making 8-of-10.
- NAIA All-American and SAU’s leading scorer Paul Marandet (19.9 PPG) was held to just five points, his lowest offensive performance of the season.
- IWU grabbed 40 rebounds in the contest, 20 more than the Cougars. IWU has grabbed 40 or more rebounds in 11 games this season.
- 26 players found the floor in the contest, with Spring Arbor collecting 31 points from their bench while the Wildcats mustered 14.

- IWU hosts Huntington University at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14.
