Volleyball Remains Perfect in Close Matches

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In day one of the Aquinas/Cornerstone Invitational, Indiana Wesleyan volleyball claimed victories over Thomas More College and #16 Aquinas (Mich.) to move to double digits in the win column. The 10-0 start for the Wildcats is the best in the Moats coaching era.

INSIDE THE BOX

  • In the opening match of the evening, Indiana Wesleyan defeated Thomas More College in four sets.
  • Marci and Kelly Miller each recorded 13 kills with Rachel Klitzing adding 12. The Wildcats had 12 blocks in the match on the way to the ninth win of the season.
  • IWU defeated #16 Aquinas in five sets behind a 24-kill performance from M. Miller. Klitzing also added 14 kills while K. Miller recorded 12.
  • Alex Falcone set a career-high with 55 assists in the match and Havyn Gates had 29 digs.
  • The tightly contested match is the first time that the Wildcats have gone to five sets this season.

TOP 25 VICTORIES

  • Indiana Wesleyan has defeated three top 25 teams in the NAIA this season including #1 Park, #2 Columbia and #16 Aquinas. Last season, the team went 1-4 against top 25 opponents.
