MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan softball completed the season sweep Friday, outscoring Bethel 43-11 in the four games. The Wildcats took game one 4-1 but dominated game two 15-1 in five innings. IWU didn’t permit a hit until the fifth inning of game two.

GAME 1

• Miranda Wehrle put IWU on the board first, homering to left fielder for the 14th time this season.
• BC squared the ballgame at one apiece in the fifth, but an Addie Benham home run in the sixth gave IWU the 2-1 lead headed into the seventh.
• Wehrle provided insurance in the top of the seventh, doubling to centerfield scoring Lauren Buckley and Sydney Williams.  

GAME 2

• Addie Benham went the distance for IWU in game two, throwing five innings while not allowing a single hit until the fifth inning. Benham finished the game with six strikeouts.
• IWU sunk the Pilots early, scoring five runs in the first inning. The Wildcats would best their first inning scoring sixth in the fifth inning.
• Four different Wildcats ended the game with multiple hits, while six Wildcats captured an RBI.

NEXT TIME OUT

• Indiana Wesleyan will make a quick turnaround, heading 151 miles north to Spring Arbor University on April 27. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 11 a.m.
• IWU wraps up the 2019 regular season on April 29 when they head 217 miles east to Mount Vernon Nazarene University. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
