Softball Struggles in Top-15 Meeting

MARION, Ind. – Big innings doomed Indiana Wesleyan softball Wednesday, falling 8-2 and 7-2 to League foe #2 Marian University. The Wildcats struggled at the plate, posting just eight total hits with no walks.

 

GAME 1

  • IWU collected just five hits in the contest with Lauren Buckley and Miranda Wehrle both going 2-of-3 from the plate.
  • Buckley collected three stolen bases in game one bringing her season total to 51. Buckley needs just 24 more to become the Crossroads League all-time stolen base leader.
  • Mckenzey Ridge and Hannah Miller split time from the mound with Ridge throwing three innings and Miller throwing four. The duo gave up ten hits while the IWU defense committed four errors.
     

GAME 2

 

NEXT TIME OUT

  • Wildcat softball will head on the road for the remainder of the regular season, with their first stop in Mishawaka, Indiana on April 26 when they face Bethel College. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3 p.m.
  • Indiana Wesleyan will make a quick turnaround, heading 151 miles north to Spring Arbor University on April 27. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 4 p.m.
  • IWU wraps up the 2019 regular season on April 29 when they head 217 miles east to Mount Vernon Nazarene University. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
