Box Score 2 MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan softball celebrated senior day Tuesday, and Kira Madl took full advantage of one final lace up in front of the home crowd. Madl finished the day 3-of-4 from the plate with five RBI’s, three runs, a walk, and two home runs. Indiana Wesleyan took care of business sweeping Mount Vernon Nazarene by a score of 7-2 and 6-3.
GAME 1
- Mckenzey Ridge picked up her 24th win of the season, throwing seven complete innings, allowing two runs on eight hits.
- Kira Madl sparked a three-run inning in the bottom of the third, sending her fourth home run of the season over deep center field.
- Rebecca Schrad collected her 25th career stolen base in the bottom of the second.
GAME 2
- Madl wasn’t finished on senior night, sending her second ball over the centerfield fence in the fifth.
- Miranda Wehrle and Rebecca Schrad each grabbed a home run in game two, giving IWU three in the contest and four on the day.
- Lauren Buckley added to her stolen base total, giving her 48 on the season and 131 in her career. Buckley sits just 27 stolen bases behind Holly Weaver (Bethel College) for the most stolen bases in Crossroads League history.
NEXT TIME OUT
- Indiana Wesleyan hosts #3 Marian University tomorrow. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 5:30 p.m.
- This game was previously scheduled to be played on April 20th but was moved due to rain.
