Box Score 2 MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan softball has found a habit of coming from behind, winning their sixth straight game after trailing earlier in the game. IWU trailed Saint Francis 3-2 in game one, before holding the Cougars scoreless for the next six innings, winning game one 7-3.
Indiana Wesleyan made things even more interesting in game two, pushing across the winning runs in the bottom of the seventh after never leading during the contest.
The Wildcats moved to 20-5 on the season and 5-0 in Crossroads League play with the wins.
GAME 1
- Despite allowing three runs in the first inning, Mckenzey Ridge would settle in, allowing just two hits the rest of the game while striking out seven.
- Miranda Wehrle found the parking lot in the bottom of the third for her fourth home run of the season.
- Addie Benham and Wehrle each pushed across three runs in the game.
GAME 2
- IWU struggled in the first inning carrying over into game two, giving up four of the Cougars six total runs.
- IWU pushed across a run in all but two innings, while stranding nine Wildcats on base.
- Kira Madl delivered in the bottom of the seventh, doubling down the left field line scoring Victoria Boyer and Rebecca Schrad for the Wildcat win.
NEXT TIME OUT
- IWU is scheduled to play their next three League opponents on the road, beginning in Indianapolis on March 26, facing #5 Marian at 3 and 5 p.m.
