#10 Softball Stays Perfect in League Play, Rain Suspends Game Two

MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan softball won their fifth straight game Wednesday, their third straight in comeback fashion. IWU took game one 6-4, while game two of the doubleheader was suspended due to field conditions in the bottom of the first.

 

GAME 1

  • IWU was held scoreless through the first three innings before pushing four across in the fourth.
  • Maddy Wehrle would kick things off in the bottom of the fourth, sending her third home run of the year over the center field fence.
  • A squeeze play would score the second run of the inning for IWU, followed by a Lauren Buckley RBI single and a Trinity Medina RBI double scoring Buckley for the Wildcats fourth run.
  • Mckenzey Ridge went the distance for the Wildcats allowing just one run in the seventh, giving the Wildcats the 6-4 win. Ridge collected her tenth win of the season.

 

GAME 2

  • The second game of the doubleheader was suspended in the bottom of the first due to heavy rain affecting the playing conditions.
  • The game will be rescheduled at a later date picking up where it left off.

 

NEXT TIME OUT

  • IWU hosts Taylor University on Friday at 4 and 6 p.m.
