GREENTOWN, Ind. – No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan University women’s tennis dropped a tightly contested decision to No. 3 Xavier (La.) on Saturday in Greentown, Indiana. Despite the score, the match was much closer than the final score that featured close matches throughout the lineup.

“Our girls team played a strong match vs. Xavier who is No. 3 in the country. The score was 7-2 but it was much closer than that. No. 1 doubles lost a great match at 9-7 that featured two top-seven doubles teams in the nation. Lizzie lost a close match to the No. 2 girl in the nation. Alex lost a great match vs. the No. 6 girl in the nation. Lena lost 6-3 in the third set. Every match up down the lineup was close and unbelievable tennis. Maddie played awesome today winning 7-5 in the third set vs. the No. 25 ranked girl in the nation. We are getting better and hoping to peak when the national tournament rolls around.”
