Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball kicked off the IU East First Bank Richmond Classic Friday, defeating East-West, 107-48. The Wildcats exploded in the first half going on a 31-8 run in the first ten minutes of the ball game. IWU led by 29 at the half with 17 points coming off turnovers.
Six Wildcats finished in double figures with Kyle Mangas leading the way with 16.
INSIDE THE BOX
- IWU allowed just ten field goals in the first half, while IWU nearly matched them from behind the arc alone making seven threes.
- The Wildcats collected 15 assists in the first half on 22 made shots. Indiana Wesleyan shot 62% from the field in the first half. IWU finished with 30 assists, the second-most in a game in the Tonagel era.
- Canaan Coffey was a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor and 3-for-3 from downtown for a Wildcat high 11-points at the half.
- Michael Thompson III finished with a team-best six assists, 13 points, and seven rebounds all career highs.
- The Wildcats committed just seven turnovers, a season-low.
