Women's Basketball Stays Perfect in Arizona

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball exploded on the final day of their Arizona trip, downing Arizona Christian 82-57. The Wildcats tallied 28 points in the first half building an 18 point advantage to start the contest.

 

INSIDE THE BOX

  • Indiana Wesleyan built their lead in the first quarter on 10-of-16 shooting for 62%. The Wildcats finished the half shooting 54%. Dayton Groninger lead the Wildcats at the half with 13 points, shooting 3-of-4 from downtown. Groninger finished with 20.
  • Sarah McLimore netted a new career-high scoring an IWU bench best of 14 points.
  • Carly Lange shined running the point, netting eight points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
  • Indiana Wesleyan held the Firestorm to just 33% shooting in the first half, making just eight shots.
  • IWU won the war at the free-throw line knocking down 9 of their 11 in the first quarter. ACU shot just six total free throws in the first half. They finished the game shooting 80% on 12-of-15 shooting.
  • 26 of the Wildcats 47 points were scored in the paint in the first half. ACU mustered just eight paint points, while the Wildcats finished with 38.

 

NEXT TIME OUT

  • The Wildcats host Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) on December 31st at 3 p.m.
  • The Crimson Wave enter the contest with a record of 1-6, with their lone win coming against Roosevelt University, 61-54 on December 14th.
