Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – For the first time in five seasons, Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball opened up Crossroads League play with a loss, falling 74-62 to No. 6 Mount Vernon Nazarene University. This was the Wildcats fourth Top-25 matchup of the season, winning the previous three by ten or more points.
Kyle Mangas led the way for IWU, scoring 28 points on 12-of-23 shooting. Mangas scored ten of the Wildcats final 13 points of the contest.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Indiana Wesleyan struggled in the first half, shooting 10-of-30 from the floor. Mount Vernon Nazarene bested the Wildcats shooting 41% on 14-of-34 shooting. IWU finished the game shooting 39%.
- The Wildcats were out-rebounded for the first time this season, 38-31.
- Both teams struggled from deep, making a combined nine threes on 42 attempts. IWU attempted 29 threes in the ball game.
- IWU committed just ten turnovers in the contest, a team-best in their last four outings.

- We didn’t play together tonight. We didn’t play together and we didn’t gel as a team tonight. That’s a really good team defensively and we settled for some really bad shots. We will get back to the gym tomorrow and turn our attention to a tough Saint Francis team.
