Football Upsets #14 Siena Heights

MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan football made history yet again Saturday, collecting the programs first Top-25 win in a 28-21 victory over #14 Siena Heights. The Wildcats took the lead headed into halftime and never looked back, allowing the Saint offense just three points in the second half.

 

INSIDE THE BOX

  • Siena Heights led both clubs with 418 total yards, while IWU edged SH 125-to-105 in rushing yards. The Saints threw for a whopping 313 yards while IWU mustered 133.
  • After a scoreless first quarter, both teams put points on the board in the second quarter. Siena Heights would build a 14-0 lead before a Ben Vongunteen and an IWU fumble recovery for a touchdown, which brought the game within five.
  • Zack Blair and Caleb Kelley gave IWU the lead headed into halftime, capping off a 6-play, 54-yard drive with a 23-yard touchdown catch.
  • Cameron Lauck came up big for the Wildcat secondary, collecting two interceptions both leading to Wildcat points.
  • Josh Davidson collected a team-best, 17-tackles, seven coming solo. Payton Marksbury and Adam Schantz nearly matched numbers collecting 12 and 11 tackles. Both Davidson and Marksbury collected ten assisted tackles.
