Women's Soccer Draws #13 Spring Arbor

Box Score

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – On a wet and windy night, Indiana Wesleyan women’s soccer moved to 9-1-2 on the season and 2-0-1 in Crossroads League play with a 1-1 (2OT) draw with #13 Spring Arbor. The Cougars struck first just eight minutes in, but a Sydney Brown cross allowed Lexis Garcia to square things up.

INSIDE THE BOX

  • Garcia’s goal pushed her to eight on the season, and her fourth in her last three matches.
  • Brown now has six assists on the year, with two in her last three games.
  • Sam Castaneda made just two saves on the evening, pushing her over the 50 save mark for the season.
  • IWU’s five shots on goal gives them 153 on the season. IWU finished last season with 143 total shots on goal.
  • Last season the Wildcats finished with 32 goals, and now they have 36 goals with six matches to go.

SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE

  • Again, I love the way our team battled tonight. It was a gritty, cold, and wet match against a very strong opponent and I thought our ladies played really well. We will continue to focus each day on getting better because this entire league is so strong. So we will look to get back to work come tomorrow!

WHAT’S NEXT

  • IWU heads to Fort Wayne, IN facing Saint Francis at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
