#14 Women's Soccer Downs Taylor for Fifth Straight Win

MARION, Ind. – #14 Indiana Wesleyan women’s soccer pushed their win streak to four games Wednesday, in a 2-0 victory over Taylor University. The duo of Lexis Garcia and Sydney Brown shined in the match, each collecting a goal and an assist. Brown struck first in the third minute while Garcia collected her goal in the 31st minute.    

 

INSIDE THE BOX

  • Being named NAIA Offensive Player of the Week yesterday, Garcia pushed her goal-scoring streak to three games after tonight. Garcia now has 12 goals on the season, second-most in the Crossroads League.
  • Brown ended her nine-match drought, collecting her fourth goal of the season. Her assist to Garcia pushed her to nine on the season, four in five matches.
  • Women’s Soccer sits atop the Crossroads League with two matches to go. Grace and Spring Arbor sit tied for second, one-and-half games back of the Wildcats. IWU last won the Crossroads League in 2010.
