MARION, Ind. – Senior Nicole Ignasiak poured in 19 while Dayton Groninger added 14, lifting No. 19 Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball over League foe Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio.) 71-49.

PRESSURE DEFENSE

• IWU put the Cougars in the pressure cooker Wednesday and didn’t let them out. Despite shooting 13 more shots than IWU, MVNU finished the game 20-of-68 from the field, making just one three on 15 attempts.

FREE THROW STRUGGLE

• The Wildcats couldn’t connect from the charity line shooting 13-of-25 for 55%, 16% worse than their season average of 71%. The Cougars shot 14 less from the stripe than IWU, connecting on 8-of-13 for just 61%.

WHALEY PERSPECTIVE

• I was really happy with our defense in a game that was really physical. As a team, we need to continue to own the paint and own the glass.
