Box Score MARION, Ind. – No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball and No. 8 Marian University went toe-to-toe Saturday, but a late surge by the Knights would down IWU, 62-52. It was all square at 51-51 with three minutes left, but the Wildcats would struggle to find the bottom of the net finishing the contest 0-for-7 from the field.
HOT SHOOTING FIRST QUARTER
- The first quarter featured 25 shots between both ball clubs, with just nine total misses. IWU lead the charge shooting 75% from the field, 2-of-3 from three. MU wasn’t too far behind shooting 53% from the field, making just one three on three attempts.
THIRD QUARTER BURST
- IWU jumped out to a quick 14-4 run, pushing their one-point lead at the half to an 11-point lead with five minutes to go in the third quarter. MU would hit a shot clock expiring three, followed by an MU full timeout shrinking the IWU lead to eight. MU would end the quarter on a 9-2 run, giving IWU a four-point advantage headed into the fourth quarter.
