MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan softball hosted second-ranked Marian (Ind.) on Monday but lost both ends of the doubleheader. Errors were costly for Indiana Wesleyan with five unearned runs allowed in the pair of losses. IWU also stranded 11 runners in the two games.

• Kelsey Kooistra: 3-4
• IWU stranded six runners in the game.
• Katie Hewitt (Marian) gave Marian the lead in the third inning hitting a grand slam to center field.

BABINSKI PROSPECTIVE

• ON GAME 1….“We saw the best pitcher in the nation and at the end of the day, gave up too much run support. I really liked the fight in the fourth inning. That will really show dividend later in the year when we face her again”

• ON GAME 2 ….”I felt like this game slipped away. We needed to be a little cleaner on defense, offense or pitching and I think we would have taken the second game. Overall, today was a great learning experience and now we turn our focus to Huntington.”

• Indiana Wesleyan heads on the road Thursday facing Huntington.  First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3 PM.
