Box Score MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan women’s soccer flexed their muscle Wednesday dominating Goshen in an easy 2-0 victory. IWU pounded the Maple Leafs defense firing off 21 shots, and forcing GC keeper Katie Baer to make ten saves. Hannah Severs was rewarded with the Wildcats first goal, playing a shot from nearly 40 yards out, but the Goshen defense would miss handle the ball resulting in an own goal. Severs wouldn’t stop there, assisting Tia Sanford for the second goal of the night by playing a beautifully crossed ball into the box for an easy header goal.
SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE
- Tonight, we had a good bounce-back game leading into the playoffs. I thought we moved the ball well and created some really good opportunities in and around the box. Credit to Goshen on their organized defense in this match. We now turn our sights and mindsets on playoffs knowing that every team is 0-0. We look forward to training tomorrow and the rest of this week.
NEXT TIME ON THE PITCH
- IWU heads to Marian University for the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals on October 31. A start time hasn’t been set.
