COACH MOATS SAYS…

  • “I really didn’t know how we were going to do this weekend. The girls came out ‘16 Strong’ and it was probably the most fun that I ever had as a coach. I loved their passion and we are going to have a very good season.”

PLAYER’S PERSPECTIVE (featuring Lauren Gross)

  • “We played really hard. We had a lot of freshmen who had not played at the collegiate level before, so just having them step up to play a role was really crucial and important. They did such a great job of doing that for our first tournament. I thought we played really hard every match and we fought for every point, especially with tougher ranked teams like Doane and Lindsey Wilson. I thought we did a really good job of playing as a team and playing with heart this weekend. It is about the team and not about ourselves. This is a great weekend to start out our season and I am feeling very confident for our next matches at home.”

UP NEXT FOR VOLLEYBALL

  • Indiana Wesleyan returns to action in a week and a half when the Wildcats host Spring Arbor (Mich.) in the home opener and Crossroads League opener. The match begins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30 in Luckey Arena.
