MARION, Ind. -- With the winds howling out at Wildcat Field Indiana Wesleyan softball and Taylor (Ind.) combined for 39 runs in the IWU-TU Rivalry Games sponsored by Marion General Hospital. Taylor won both ends of the doubleheader as they scored 23 runs in the pair of games.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Indiana Wesleyan quickly built a 6-0 lead after two innings of play. Kristen Exposito had the big hit with a 1st inning grand slam.
• Taylor scored in each of the next three innings and captured a 7-6 lead after 5 innings.
• IWU tied the score 7-7 in the 6th inning on a Kaisey Carson RBI single.
• Taylor pulled away in the 7th inning with four runs on five hits.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

• The Wildcats led 5-2 after two innings. Sara Kreitzer drilled a 3-run home run in the 2nd inning to take a three run lead.
• The Trojans responded with five runs in the next half inning to gain a 7-5 lead. The lead grew to 10-5 in the 5th inning when the Trojans plated three more runs.
• Sara Kreitzer ripped her second home run of the game in the 5th inning to narrow the deficit to 10-6.
• In the 6th inning, the Trojans scored twice and the Wildcats added three for the 12-9 final score.

NEXT TIME OUT

• Indiana Wesleyan and Spring Arbor (Mich.) will play a doubleheader on Saturday. The games have been moved to Wildcat Field and will begin at 12 p.m. noon.
