Women?s Basketball Drops Lead Late in Loss to MVNU

MARION, Ind. -- Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) stunned No. 24 Indiana Wesleyan University women’s basketball 71-69 on Wednesday night with a 16-3 run to close the game. MVNU trailed by 11 points but the run culminated in a 71-69 Cougar win that was capped by a game-winning 3-pointer with 14 seconds on the clock.

  • “We knew they would press and we worked against it. But when it got down to the pressure point we didn’t handle the ball well. That cost us the ball game. It’s the turnovers that did it. We didn’t execute well today.”
