STAT TRACKER

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

  • Indiana Wesleyan has won 20 games in a season for the 11th consecutive year, which dates back to the second year that head coach Greg Tonagel has led the Wildcats. IWU had two such 20 win seasons in the first 38 years of existence.
  • The 61 points for Marian is the lowest this season by an Indiana Wesleyan opponent. The previous low was 67 by Cal Maritime on December 17, 2016.
  • The game featured the top two scorers in the Crossroads League with IWU’s Lane Mahurin (20.7) and Marian’s Wes Stowers (19.5). Mahurin finished with 18 points in less than 28 minutes of play while Stowers ended with 15 points. But during the first half Mahurin outscored Sowers, 14-2.

COACH MARLIN SAYS…

  • “I thought we came out in the first 20 minutes and there were no lulls. And that continued in the first 10 minutes of the second half. We had nice defense and our motion offense moved the ball well. This was an improvement but there is still room to grow."

NEXT TIME OUT
